Ballet

In Todays Lesson, we took pictures of our current flexibility. The idea of this is that when we next review our progress, we can take another set of pictures and compare them to the first so we get a visual idea of how well we are doing.

This is my current ‘Turn Out’ – I am pleased with this however I believe that there is a lot of room for progression. I have set myself a goal to achieve by the end of the winter term. I want to have my feet parallel to each other at a 180 degree angle.

  1. Daytona, where are the pictures you have written about? I would expect to be able to see the pictures and I would also expect to be able to see descriptions of what they show e.g. demi plié in first position from the side with arms in first position PLUS a comment about what you observe in the picture: your posture – correct or incorrect saying why you think this; your classical leg alignment i.e. turnout form the hip – correct or incorrect saying why you think this; your classical arm alignment i.e. shoulders higher than elbows higher than wrists higher than fingertips, no tension in shoulders so neck is long – correct or incorrect
